I've spent 13+ years building and scaling affiliate programs across two of the most respected agencies in the space: Acceleration Partners and Gen3 Marketing. Working across publisher ecosystems, performance platforms, and partner types to drive measurable revenue growth.

At Gen3 I grew into a Director role, leading strategy across a 40+ US brand portfolio spanning fashion, wellness, consumer electronics, lifestyle, and entertainment. Before that, at Acceleration Partners I managed global programs for Uber Eats and Uber Rider across the US, Canada, and Latin America.

What is affiliate
marketing, and why
should you care?

Affiliate marketing is a performance-based channel: you only pay when a result is delivered. No impressions, no clicks, no guesswork. A publisher sends a customer to your site, that customer buys, and the publisher earns a commission. For DTC brands, it's one of the few channels where the cost is tied directly to revenue generated.

The Brand
Advertiser

That's you. A company selling a product or service that wants to acquire new customers through external marketing partners, without paying upfront for traffic that may not convert.

The Partner
Publisher (Affiliate)

Publishers are the partners who promote your brand: content sites, review blogs, loyalty platforms, coupon aggregators, influencers, and email marketers. They earn a commission only when they drive a sale.

The Goal
Consumer

The end buyer. They click on the publisher's unique tracking link, arrive at your site, and complete a purchase. The platform records the conversion and attributes the commission to the right partner.

The Infrastructure
Network / Platform

The technology layer that makes it all trackable. Platforms like Impact, Rakuten, CJ, and Awin assign unique tracking links, record every click and conversion, handle commission payments to publishers, and provide reporting for both sides.

Publisher shares your link

A content site, loyalty app, or influencer promotes your product using a unique tracked URL assigned to them.

Consumer clicks & visits

The click is recorded by the affiliate platform (Impact, Rakuten, CJ, or Awin). A tracking cookie is placed on the consumer's browser.

Consumer completes a purchase

The transaction is recorded on your site. The platform's tracking pixel fires and logs the conversion against the correct publisher.

Commission is paid

The publisher receives their agreed commission. You've acquired a customer and only paid once the revenue was confirmed.
